Movie Review: (horror) Rampo Noir (2005)

December 10, 2010 at 3:42 am (horror, movies)

Wow. This is some demented stuff. Based on four short stories by a Japanese mystery writer, each story has a different director. This is not standard popular J-horror. It’s an art film. A horror art film.

I enjoyed it a great deal, but it might bore some folks. (And if you’re holding out for the gore, the 4th story delivers.)

Tadanobu Asano is amazing, as usual. And naked! WOO!

Dreamlike, spooky, surreal and grotesque, this movie is a kick in the butt. If you liked Strange Circus, you’ll probably like this one.

-Not rated
-4 out of 5 stars
-Very adult and psychologically disturbing
