Movie Review: (horror) “Dead Silence” (2007)

December 10, 2010 at 3:13 am (horror, movies)

Yes. I did gie a killer ventriloquist dummy movie 4 stars. But wait, hear me out!

I’m not a big fan of killer ventriloquist dummy movies. (Okay, I loved “Magic,” 1978, starring Anthony Hopkins.  But other than that one, meh.)

Well, this rapidly changed from a killer dummy movie to a witch with an evil curse movie. And it was some CREEPY STUFF. Really well acted and directed. The photography is gorgeous, very EC Comic. Almost reminded me of the cinematic style of “Pumpkinhead.”

The plot kept twisting and changing, but not in an incoherent “WTF just happened?” kind of way. I found this good, clean, gory fun. And what the dummies do to people is really, REALLY gross. Bonus!

-Not rated, but pretty gory
-4 out of 5 stars
-Probably OK for teens who are already gorehounds. Not for kids.
